Eighth & Eight Community Nights: Spring 2023 Call for Participants

Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces presents:
Community Nights
Tuesdays from April 11-June 13, 2023
4:00-10:00 PM

Looking for a space to write some music, rehearse new choreography, or develop a creative project? Join us on Tuesday nights where you can freely create at Eighth & Eight!

Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces is hosting Community Nights every Tuesday from April 11-June 13, 2023, from 4:00-10:00 PM. Community Nights provides artists and art groups with the opportunity to access spaces now available at Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces at the Massey Theatre Complex for free. We are offering a maximum of two-hour blocks for each artist/group to build their creative projects and hone their artistic skills in a supportive, barrier-free environment.

Please keep in mind that all participating groups will be asked to participate in two free public events or forms of public engagement (e.g., workshop, talk) at Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces. More details will follow.

Please note that we will only accept artists/groups that do not involve commercial activities, paid enrollment, or public showings. Participating groups are also required to host the events with the same group of attending members each week.

If you’re interested, please fill out the form by Friday, March 31, 2023.

If you have any questions, contact Qiuli Wu at

*Space access does not include the theatre, technical support, storage, or equipment.
*Schedule is subject to change with notice.
*All participants will be required to sign a participation contract and liability waiver.

Testimonial from Silene Razo, an independent dance artist/performer:

“As an artist, I am always looking for opportunities to engage and create within my community. Having space to rehearse and explore sometimes it’s not easy. I am grateful for this kind of program that allows artists to continue developing projects. Eight & Eight Creative Spaces is a very inclusive place. As a mother, I feel supported and welcomed.”
