Arts organizations everywhere, including ours in New West, are facing head winds in 2025. Join us as we explore the directions of our organizations and what will be needed for the arts and culture sector in our city to survive and thrive.

This is a chance for New West’s arts and culture community to gather to listen and reflect together on where we’re at and where we’re headed. During the session, Arts New West and Massey Theatre Society will share their current strategic direction, including how they’re responding to these challenging times.

Following the presentation, we will open the floor to community members and representatives from arts and culture organizations to share their thoughts and ideas.

Some guiding questions include:

• Let’s think outside the box. What thoughts and ideas do you have on how we can respond to the times we’re in?
• What do we need to better understand or learn to address the way forward?
• What can we do together to strengthen our sector?

Our desired outcome from this session is to help build a more connected and supportive network of community members and arts organizations—people who are prepared to speak up, share knowledge and advocate for a strong, sustainable future for the arts in New Westminster.
