HINDSIGHT : Honouring the Wisdom Gained in our Life Stories

A Storytelling Workshop for Elders, Seniors and Wisdom Sharers
Wednesdays, March 15-May 31 from 1 pm-3 pm

*$180 plus GST

This workshop program is for elders, seniors and wisdom sharers who are artists as well as non-artists. Everyone who has a story to tell.

Hindsight: The ability to understand, after something has happened, why or how it was done and how it might have been done better.

Stories are the threads that make up the fabric of our lives. We all have stories. They can help form who we are in the world. There are stories we tell ourselves or tell others or share with family or friends. These stories are important.

As we grow older and learn more about ourselves and about the world around us our perceptions of things can change. It is this learning about ourselves and feelings that can sometimes make our stories feel obsolete or at least in need of a rewrite.

This workshop allows participants to look at those stories anew. The workshop will focus on sharing your story with others in community.

Through writing and prompts, discussions, and theatre games you will bring your story forward and polish it. All in a way that is relaxed, encouraging and non-judgmental. Open to all abilities who have a story to tell.

Individuals of a wide array of backgrounds and lived experiences are encouraged to sign up. There is no age restrictions to attend, but preference will be given to individuals over 50 should the class fill up.

Class Structure:
Weekly Classes for 12 weeks
Weeks One to Five – generating and exploring stories
Weeks Six to Nine – selecting and developing for sharing
Weeks Ten to Eleven – preparing to share (performing, staging, rehearsing and activity plans)
Week Twelve – storytelling presentation
